Our History
The history of Lasky Justus Law mirrors the legal career of Senior Counsel, Jeffrey Lasky. Since 1981, Jeff has practiced law in the historic district of Downtown Savannah.

In 1992, the Savannah partners at Keenan Ashman formed the Savannah law firm of Ashman, Lasky & Cooper. In 2003, Jeff became the managing partner of Lasky Law Group & later Lasky Justus Law.
In 2015 Jeff’s son, Darryl Lasky, joined the firm & is carrying on the family’s passion of helping people who have had their lives changed by the negligence of others. Darryl’s law school classmate, Danny Justus, also joined the firm in 2015. In 2023 Darryl & Danny became the managing partners of what is now known as Lasky Justus Law.
Since its inception, the firm has focused its practice on representing victims of negligence. Darryl I. Lasky
Managing Partner
Darryl I. Lasky has been with the firm in several capacities since 2011. In May 2016, he became licensed to practice law in the State of Georgia. He has focused his practice on auto/truck accidents, personal injury litigation, and contract disputes.
More About Mr. Lasky
Prior to getting licensed to practice law, Mr. Lasky was a legal intern at the State Court of Chatham County with the Honorable Hermann Coolidge. In 2017, Mr. Lasky was honored by the American Institute of Legal Advocates as a “Personal Injury Rising Star.”
When he is not advocating for his clients, Mr. Lasky enjoys traveling, attending concerts, and playing music.

Daniel C. Justus
Managing Partner
Daniel C. Justus joined the firm in April 2015 and has focused his practice on personal injury and medical malpractice litigation. Mr. Justus has secured record-setting jury verdicts has recovered tens of millions of dollars for his clients. Along with Jeffrey Lasky, he heads the firm’s litigation department. He has been honored by several legal organizations as a “Rising Star” and as “Top 40 Under 40”.
More About Mr. Justus
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Justus earned his Juris Doctor from Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School in 2014. While at John Marshall, he served as Executive Chairman of the Trial Advocacy Team and Executive Vice-Chairman of the Moot Court Honor Board. During his tenure with these organizations, Mr. Justus was a member of five national law school trial competition teams and won numerous advocacy awards both for competition performances and at his graduation.
Mr. Justus clerked for the Honorable Beth Bloom of the United States District Court of the Southern District of Florida, the Paulding County District Attorney’s Office in Dallas, Georgia, and Golden & Cowan, P.A. in Miami, Florida.
In addition to his law practice, Mr. Justus was an adjunct professor at Savannah Law School from 2016 to 2020 where he taught trial advocacy and served as the faculty advisor and coach for the Mock Trial Team. He also serves as the Solicitor for the City of Springfield, Georgia. His trial partner is his wife, Maria Justus. In their free time they enjoy a variety of outdoor activities and spending time with their two daughters, Eleni and Sophia.

Jeffrey W. Lasky
Senior Counsel
Jeffrey W. Lasky acts as senior counsel for Lasky Justus Law. Since graduating law school in 1981, Mr. Lasky has focused his professional efforts almost exclusively on personal injury litigation. Throughout his career, Mr. Lasky has only represented individuals and their families who have been injured or killed as a result of the negligence of others. He has focused his practice on representing victims of catastrophic injuries, medical malpractice, trucking/automobile negligence, nursing home negligence, sexual abuse of minors and product liability.

Mr. Lasky has also received recognition and awards from The National Trial Lawyers Association, National Academy of Personal Injury Attorneys, The American Society of Legal Advocates, and The National Association of Distinguished Counsel.
He obtained his first million dollar jury verdict in 1985 and since that date has obtained numerous multi-million dollar jury verdicts, arbitration awards, and settlements. Mr. Lasky has been married for 36 years to his college sweetheart, Stacy. He has 2 sons, Darryl & Stephen. Darryl finished law school and joined the firm in 2016. Besides practicing law, Mr. Lasky’s passions are his family, charitable fundraising and being an active community volunteer.

Brian E. Krapf
Trial Lawyer
Brian E. Krapf was born and raised in Savannah and heads his own litigation trial team for the firm. He has been selected as one of the Georgia Top 100 by the National Trial Lawyers Association every year since 2012 and is an active member of NTLA’s Nursing Home Litigation specialty association. Mr. Krapf has received awards from the American Academy of Trial Attorneys, American Institute of Personal Injury Attorneys, and America’s Top 100 Attorneys.
More About Mr. Krapf
In addition to Georgia, he is one of a small number of Savannah lawyers admitted to practice law in Washington, D.C. and one of very few Savannah lawyers admitted to practice before the United States Court of Federal Claims. Mr. Krapf lectures at legal seminars, particularly on nursing home negligence and malpractice, teaching other lawyers and their support staffs legal techniques and strategies to protect our vulnerable elderly citizens.
Since beginning his practice of law in 1991, Mr. Krapf has obtained substantial verdicts, settlements and arbitration awards for his clients. In addition to practicing law, Mr. Krapf is active in charitable community organizations and is also a Boy Scout volunteer. Also, Mr. Krapf is a nationally recognized political historian, has published numerous historical articles, has had television and radio appearances on CNN, MSNBC and NPR and has been interviewed by many national magazines and journals. Mr. Krapf is a contributor to the International Churchill Society, which is a publication read by people all over the world.

Maria M. Justus
Trial Attorney
Maria Justus is a litigation attorney at Lasky Justus Law. She joined the firm in 2022 with a primary focus in Medical Malpractice and Personal Injury litigation working alongside Jeff Lasky and Danny Justus. She also serves as Criminal Justice Act attorney providing legal counsel to indigent defendants in the Southern District of Georgia.
More About Mrs. Justus
Maria Justus is a trial attorney at Lasky Justus Law in Savannah, Georgia. Prior to joining the firm, Maria worked under the mentorship Former United States Attorney for the Southern District of Georgia Donnie Dixon from 2017 to 2022. In that role, Maria assisted with and oversaw a variety of cases with a primary focus in Federal Criminal Defense. She also spent time at The Manely Firm, P.C. handling a variety of family law litigation.
Prior to becoming licensed to practice, Maria clerked in the Superior Court of the Eastern Judicial Circuit under Chief Judge Penny Hass Freesemann. During that time, she observed and assisted with the Mental Health and Veterans Specialty Courts. She then went on to intern for Attorney Richard Darden of Darden & Bradley P.C. where she assisted in felony appeals to Supreme Court of Georgia.
Through this experience, Maria has developed great compassion for the clients she serves. She is able to apply this client-centered practice to both her criminal and civil clients. Her civil practice is now focused on medical malpractice and personal injury litigation.
Maria grew up in Miami, Florida in a Greek American family. She attended college at Florida International University earning her B.S. in Criminal Justice. While in school she was a proud recipient of the Florida Bright Futures Scholarship, also enjoying active membership of the sorority Alpha Omicron Pi. Following college, Maria attended Savannah Law School where she was a John E. Ryan Merit scholarship recipient.
Maria currently serves as a board member of the Savannah Trial Lawyers Association and the Savannah Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, serves as a Criminal Justice Act Panel Attorney providing legal counsel to indigent defendants accused of crimes in the Southern District of Georgia, is a board member of the League of Women Voters of Coastal Georgia, and is a committee member under the Federal Law Chair for the Georgia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. She is also a volunteer for the Safety Valve Project providing pro bono counsel to students facing suspension or expulsion. At Lasky Justus Law Maria heads the facilitation of their philanthropic involvement and has greatly enjoyed growing the firm’s local community impact.
Maria was chosen to participate in the 2023-2024 Georgia Trial Lawyers Association LEAD Class. Admission to LEAD is highly competitive with stringent requirements with the program’s purpose to build strong relationships between Georgia’s youngest and most promising trial lawyers from all four corners of our state. She has also been selected as one of Super Lawyers Georgia Rising Stars for 2024.
When Maria is not advocating for her clients, she enjoys traveling with her two daughters and her husband and trial partner, Danny Justus.

Meet Our Staff
Mary Holloway
Mary Holloway is the paralegal for Brian E. Krapf and Darryl I. Lasky. She has been a paralegal since 1994 and a team member at Lasky Justus Law since 2007. Since joining the firm, she has been an integral part of the pre-suit and nursing home departments. In her free time, Mary enjoys spending time with her grandchildren and reading, she has a particular interest in Stephen King novels.
Pamela Price
Pamela Price is the Medical Records Administrator to the Medical Malpractice, Nursing Home and Personal Injury Teams assisting Daniel Justus, Brian Krapf, Darryl Lasky, and Maria Justus. Her experience in Health Information Management-Release of Information began in 1994. She also has certificates in Medical Terminology, Compliance, and Ethics. She joined the Lasky Justus Law in September of 2017. In her free time, Pamela loves to spend time with her grandchildren, boating as well as fishing in our open waters.
Jonathan Gwaltney
Jonathan Gwaltney is a paralegal to the Litigation Team. He has been a paralegal since 2017 and joined Lasky Justus in the summer of 2023. Jonathan studied creative writing and political science, concentrating on political geography and legal studies, at Georgia College in Milledgeville. In his free time, Jonathan enjoys boating, fishing, and writing of all sorts, from prose to screenplay. He’s also an accomplished cello player.
Taylor Barger, PA-C, MSPAS
Taylor Barger is a Physician Assistant and serves as a medical consultant for Lasky Justus Law. She graduated from Shenandoah University with a Masters in Physician Assistant Studies in 2018 and currently practices Urgent Care Medicine. She also has healthcare experience in Emergency Medicine and Pain Management. Taylor is licensed in Georgia, South Carolina, Florida, Virgina, and Maryland. She is a professional member of the American Academy of Physicians Assistants. In her free time, Taylor enjoys going to the beach, trying new restaurants, and spending time with her children, family, and friends.

Arthur L. Cooper was a founding partner of Lasky Cooper Law who tragically passed away in late 2016 after a short illness. Mr. Cooper’s core principle that guided how he practiced law was to “Walk Like You Mean It.” This philosophy continues to emanate through the halls of Lasky Justus Law, and is one of the reasons for the law firm’s decades
